First Tamil collects no data. Nothing leaves your device.
First Tamil stores lesson progress (which lessons you have completed) on your device only, using Apple’s standard UserDefaults storage. This information stays on the device. It is not transmitted to the developer, to Apple, or to any third party. Deleting the app deletes this information.
The letter and word audio you hear in First Tamil is generated locally on your device using Apple’s built-in AVSpeechSynthesizer (the same technology used by VoiceOver and Spoken Content). No audio is recorded, transmitted, or stored. The Tamil-language voice itself is downloaded and managed by iOS through Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, not by First Tamil.
When you trace or write a letter in the app, your strokes are drawn on the screen using Apple’s PencilKit framework and held in memory only while that screen is open. Your handwriting is never saved, transmitted, or analysed by any service.
First Tamil is designed for adult learners but is suitable for all ages. Because First Tamil collects no data, the app complies by default with COPPA, GDPR, and similar regulations protecting children’s privacy.
